My name is Isaac Newcomb. I’m a graduate of Adirondack School of Recording Arts and Cornell University, and I’m passionate about exploring the many possibilities of sound production – whether I am supporting live theater productions or mixing an album for an indie rock band. I’m driven by curiosity, and grounded in a deep knowledge of the many possibilities music production can provide and explore.
While much of my work is highly technical, I pride myself on prompt, clear, and open communication. I believe that organized projects leave the most room for creativity, and I strive to create a smooth process that brings your work to life.

Building atmosphere
How do I build atmosphere around a song? I carve out sonic niches for your vocals to nestle within, and I create layers for each instrument and track to compliment one another while not competing for air.
At times I layer field recordings of streams rippling, waves receding, ice cracking, branches clicking, and I manipulate them to become something entirely new and unrecognizable. As you listen to the tracks below, you will hear sounds that I have recorded and incorporated into my own music productions. These are just a few of the possibilities we can explore with your music, all with the goal of achieving the fullest vision of your project.

Where are you based?

I’m based in Saranac Lake, New York, and while much of my work is remote and does not require travel, I am willing and able to travel for any on-site visits and productions.
