An exclusive live music event created and produced by Twolined Studio – host and producer of The Saranac Lake Hootenanny – the Songwriter Spotlight is a night of live music featuring up-and-coming songwriters in an intimate listening room setting.
The New Year’s Songwriter Spotlight is proudly sponsored by Bluebird Lake Placid, where you will discover musicians while enjoying the comfort and coziness of Bluebird Lake Placid’s (Musician’s) Lounge.
Three headliners, two “In the Round” sessions featuring six songwriters, and a “SL’oo Line” to close down the show will make this premiere live music event a night to remember.
What is the Songwriter Spotlight?
Ring in the New Year with original, live music overlooking Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, NY, and discover musicians pushing the boundaries of their genres, from folk to Americana to synth pop and indie rock.
The show will alternate between Signature Songwriter Sets and “In the Round” Sessions – a performance format popularized at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee.
Cap the night off with a collaboration bringing all of the Show’s musicians together to cover your favorite songs – a “SL’oo Line” performance format brought to you by The Saranac Lake Hootenanny.

The Line-Up
The night will be broken up into 30-minute sets, alternating between “In the Round” and Featured Artist sessions.

“In the Round” is a singer/songwriter performance format popularized at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. Cat, Isaac, and Sarah will take the stage together, taking turns sharing original music and the stories that made them.

Billy Allen, Shamim Allen, and Bill Chamberlain perform original songs that speak to a life lived in the North Country. Billy Allen's songs embed the Adirondack lakes and mountains in every lyric and melody, and these tunes feel like they have been in your daily rotation of music forever.
